ATtendance - Absences - Make-up classes

**Please place a courtesy call or email to the school or teacher before the start of each class if for any reason a student is unable to attend class. Attendance is taken at each class. Good attendance is very important to each dancer’s success as well as the progress the class makes as a whole. Please make every effort to have your child at class each week. Missing classes is inevitable, but excessive absences can affect progress both individually and as a group.

If you have a planned absence, please let us know in advance. There are no reimbursements for missed classes. Make-up classes are allowed (when available) for excused absences and absences due to illness. Contact us to arrange a make-up time. Consistent class attendance and participation is encouraged for appropriate progression in the classroom. Please make sure your child is on time and present in class.

Make up classes

Two cancellations due to weather or other are embedded into the year. No makeup classes will be scheduled until a class has been cancelled more than three times.  Classes requiring make-ups will be held during vacation breaks, weekends or times agreed upon by the director, class instructor and students.

Class Cancellations

If classes need to be cancelled due to weather, The Dance Annex will decide by that day and will send an email or phone call to those affected. It will also be posted on the website or inquiries can be made by calling The Dance Annex. Please note, if the York School System cancels school due to weather, The Dance Annex will NOT necessarily cancel its classes as well.

Costume Fees and Participation Fees

Costumes fees are charged for all students in recital classes that choose to be in performances. Fees generally range from $50-$80 and up depending on level, show, number of classes and number of dances each dancer is in. Costume deposits are required.
